Brett Jackson is a designer who runs Sukoya Design, a solo studio focused on brand, web design, and Framer development. At his core, he’s a builder—someone who simply loves creating things, whether digital or physical.
Before Sukoya, he founded a video production and photography studio and co-founded a sustainable home construction startup. These experiences continue to shape how he approaches design today.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him in nature where he is often walking, hiking, biking, or camping. He’s also an avid soccer player and has a unique hobby: growing Japanese maple trees.

Brett Jackson's solo design studio in full equipped with a Vernal standing desk, Gigabyte 4K monitor, Edifier MR4s, and a LEGO Japanese maple bonsai that steals the show.

Brett’s workspace is thoughtful and built for creative work.

Every detail earns its place — from the Fujifilm X100VI resting on design books to the LEGO maple bonsai perched on the Edifier MR4.

Books on display: Branding, Principles of Logo Design, Wisdom Takes Work, and The Courage to Be Disliked.

Edifier MR4, Fujifilm X100VI, and a LEGO bonsai — the details on Brett's desk are as intentional as his design work.

A addition and instant conversation starter — Brett's LEGO Japanese Red Maple Bonsai sits atop his Edifier MR4, next to a Fujifilm X100VI and a stack of design classics.

Brett grows Japanese maple trees in real life, so the LEGO version fits right in.

Before he was a brand designer, Brett ran a video production and photography studio. The Fujifilm X100VI on his desk is a quiet nod to where it all started.

What is the most recent item that you've added to your workspace?
The most recent addition to my workspace is the Vernal Standing Desk. It’s been a huge benefit to my back and energy, especially after lunch. Also, just got the LEGO Japanese Maple Bonsai set and I think it’s a sick addition.
What is one change you'd like to make to your current workspace?
I would love a new monitor, looking at the new Studio Display XDR. I’ll be moving soon though, so desk additions will have to wait until we’re settled in a new spot.
Walk us through your morning routine—what’s the first thing you do at your desk?
I like to take my mornings slow, I make some coffee, take a seat at my desk, plan out my day, and do some sketching before getting into the workday. I’m pretty set in my routines, so slow mornings are a must to get my day started right.
What’s one productivity trick that actually works for you?
Going for walks. Less of a trick and more of a really great habit. Gets me (and my dog) up and moving outside, helps me with brain fog and creative blocks. I feel like it’s a cliche thing nowadays but man walking is just great.
What’s the most underrated app or tool you use every day?
To be honest, Apple’s Journal app. It’s an app that I’ve only recently started to use. I want to remember more, document my day-to-day, and hash things out by writing (typing) and this app just makes it so easy. And it’s an Apple native app.. so it just works, and looks good too.
