Shea Cohen has spent the last few years publishing concept videos on YouTube and doing freelance design, 3D, and animation work. He has worked mostly for tech startups based in SF, as well as other creators on YouTube.
His concept videos have garnered over 100,000 subscribers and 13,000,000 views.
For his client work, he has worked on tons of product launch videos, has done some UI work, and made 3D product renders in Blender.
This year, he is now trying to go full time on YouTube. This prompted him to build a new setup and channel where he will be making deep dive videos on upcoming tech products.
He is currently 18 years old and living in LA.

The below image was taken from his recent YouTube video where he brainstormed, designed, and pieced together his current workspace.
He was able to turn this beautiful 3D render into the space you see above.
Workspaces was seriously super helpful when putting together my setup inspo.

Workspace Setup & Hardware
Custom PC (i9-13900K, 4090, 128GB, 3BT)
Nomad Stand One (wireless charger on the left of my desk)
Daily Software Use
Premiere Pro
After Effects
Photoshop
Figma
Illustrator
What is the most recent item that you've added to your workspace?
Since the whole workspace is kinda new it's hard for me to choose one thing, but I can tell you my next upgrade. Jonathan Morrison very generously gave me some desktop speakers that I haven't been able to use because my massive PC takes up too much space on my desk, so I'm planning on swapping out my PC ecosystem to Mac. Once I do this I also plan on switching out Premiere Pro for Final Cut as my main editing software for my videos, since I've heard really positive things from my creator friends.
What went into your recent workspace redesign? Talk us through it.
I've been wanting to create a dedicated workspace for myself for at least a year, so I've had vague ideas floating around for a while. Over the last year I bookmarked a lot of tweets (many from Workspaces!) that I stumbled across and felt like they would fit the vibe that I wanted to go for. Before buying anything to build the studio, I measured out my apartment and created a true-to-scale 3D model of what I wanted the layout to be. From there, it was pretty easy to assemble everything with my render as the reference.
Walk us through your morning routine—what’s the first thing you do at your desk?
In all honesty, I have a terrible morning routine. I usually start off the day by waking up way too late, responding to all my notifications, going through my to-do list, and then progressively getting more productive towards the end of the day. By the end of the night I'm fully locked in to whatever work I have to do.
What’s one productivity trick that actually works for you?
My favorite productivity trick is taking a walk. If I ever feel like I'm in an unproductive mood, getting out for 30-60 minutes completely resets me. It doesn't matter how late it is (I'm lucky I live in a safe neighborhood), a walk with my AirPods fixes me.
What’s the most underrated app or tool you use every day?
Telegram. It's basically unlimited cloud storage and I have no idea how they're profitable. It's supposed to be used as a chat app, but they have a whole UI for sending yourself messages, so you can send unlimited lossless files up to 2GB per file on the free plan. If you add a message with those files then you can also search for them later. I use Telegram to store files, send things to clients, and transfer files between my PC, laptop, and iPhone. You'll have to deal with a few spam crypto texts but it's absolutely worth it.
If you enjoyed this edition of Workspaces, please consider sending it to someone that you think would love it just as much! ❤️
