Workspace Setup
Vermont White Oak Desk
Rode NT-USB Mini Microphone w/ Studio Arm Stand
What is the most recent item that you've added to your workspace?
I recently added the Native Union charger to my desk shelf. It keeps my phone and AirPods charged, and having easy-access, dedicated charging spaces really keeps me in flow.
What is one change you'd like to make to your current workspace?
Someday, I’d love to be able to shoot videos and photos more easily. Right now I’m storing cameras, mics, and lights in another closet, but I’d love to upgrade that to more intentional (maybe even visible) storage for easy access and studio vibes. And the real dream is to move my office into a backyard ADU.
How do you spark creativity?
I’m an inspiration pack rat. I bookmark, tag, save, and pin things that resonate on a daily basis. When it’s time to work on something, I gather some of it to start creating something new. And sometimes I pop open books and magazines I keep within reach. An analog inspo session can go a long way, especially when what you really need is to step away from the screen.
What does your typical day look like?
I wake up early to ease into the day with my two cats (Cubb & Toque) and a nice latte. Since I’m a creative director at Help Scout, I wear a few hats and my workdays cover some ground. When I sit down at my desk, I break out a fresh Analog card and outline some reasonable tasks for the day. Usually, that means getting into some individual contributor work or collaborating with our frontend developer (in Amsterdam) first. After lunch, I’ll join meetings with marketing leads to strategize, or 1:1s & crit with the team to review work and level ourselves up. It’s nice having a mix, and most days feel fresh and exciting.
What do you enjoy most about WFH life?
My home office is the place I do my best work. I’m truly grateful that I’ve been able to curate a space that’s both beautiful and inspirational, and free of distraction. It’s already hard enough to be creative, but working from home in a space you love stacks the deck in your favor.
If you enjoyed this edition of Workspaces, please consider sending it to someone that you think would love it just as much! ❤️
